Senior Full Stack Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and best practices in software engineering.

• Create modern web applications with React, TypeScript, reusable components, responsive designs, and accessible interaction patterns.

• Develop and utilize REST APIs following an API-first methodology.

• Maintain comprehensive OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and robust error handling.

• Architect modular, maintainable solutions employing microservices along with object-oriented and domain-driven design patterns.

• Leverage Node.js for lightweight services, backend-for-frontend components, integrations, or development tools.

• Design and enhance PostgreSQL data models and queries, focusing on integrity, performance, and audit trails.

• Implement integrations with both internal and external systems using REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, and various integration methodologies.

• Containerize applications and participate in cloud deployment strategies, configuration management, and ensuring environment consistency.

• Build and oversee Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines featuring automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployment processes.

• Equip applications with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting.

• Diagnose functional and production issues, enhancing application performance, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and fellow engineers through design sessions, code reviews, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of full-stack software development experience, including responsibility for production applications.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Java and Spring technologies, especially Spring Boot, REST services, persistence, security, and automated testing.

• Strong frontend development background with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and contemporary testing practices.

• Familiarity with Node.js for lightweight services, integrations, build tools, or supporting components.

• Proven ability in designing REST APIs, microservices, and maintainable applications within distributed environments.

• Solid SQL expertise and experience in designing efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Exceptional communication skills, including the capacity to produce clear technical documentation and facilitate client-facing workshops.

• Experience with Workforce Management (WFM) applications or platforms is advantageous.

• Familiarity with AWS services and Amazon Connect is a plus.

• Knowledge of CX solutions, contact centers, or customer service environments, including voice infrastructure or integrations with FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, Twilio, or similar communication platforms is beneficial.

• Understanding of forecasting, scheduling, adherence, routing, agent desktop, digital channels, or related operational concepts is a plus.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies is desirable.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery practices is advantageous.

• Experience integrating applications with CRM, identity, HR, payroll, analytics, or other enterprise systems is a plus.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled solutions, including Claude or GitHub Copilot, is an additional advantage.
