Senior Full Stack Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, test, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Construct modern web applications with React, TypeScript, reusable components, responsive designs, and accessible interaction methodologies.

• Produce and utilize REST APIs following an API-first strategy, upholding OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and error management.

• Craft modular solutions leveraging microservices along with object-oriented and event-driven design paradigms.

• Employ Node.js for lightweight services, backend-for-frontend components, integrations, or development tools.

• Design and enhance PostgreSQL data models and queries focusing on integrity, performance, and audit trails.

• Create and implement integrations with both internal and external systems using REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, and various integration techniques.

• Containerize applications and participate in cloud-based deployment practices, configuration management, and environmental consistency.

• Develop and sustain Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines featuring automated testing, quality checkpoints, and repeatable deployment processes.

• Equip applications with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting.

• Diagnose functional and production challenges and enhance application performance, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and engineering teams during design sessions, code evaluations, planning, and ongoing improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of full-stack software development expertise, including responsibility for production applications.

• Extensive hands-on proficiency with Java and Spring technologies, especially Spring Boot, REST services, persistence, security, and automated testing.

• Strong frontend development background with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and contemporary testing methods.

• Familiarity with Node.js for lightweight services, integrations, build tools, or assisting components.

• Documented experience in designing REST APIs, microservices, and maintainable applications within distributed settings.

• Proficient SQL skills and experience in crafting efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Background in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Exceptional communication abilities, including the capacity to create clear technical documentation and lead client-facing workshops.

• Understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and secure API design practices.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery methodologies.

• Experience with Workforce Management (WFM) applications or platforms is an advantage.

• Familiarity with AWS services and Amazon Connect is a plus.

• Experience in developing CX, contact center, or customer service applications, including voice infrastructure or integrations using FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, Twilio, or similar platforms, is an advantage.

• Knowledge of forecasting, scheduling, adherence, routing, agent desktop, digital channels, or other related operational concepts is a plus.

• Experience integrating with CRM, identity, HR, payroll, analytics, or other enterprise systems is a plus.

• Practical experience in AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled solutions, including Claude or GitHub Copilot, is a bonus.
