Senior Full Stack Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Create contemporary web applications with React, TypeScript, reusable components, responsive layouts, and accessible interaction patterns.

• Develop and consume REST APIs employing an API-first methodology.

• Ensure clear OpenAPI/Swagger contracts and effective error handling.

• Architect modular, maintainable solutions using microservices along with object-oriented and event-driven design patterns.

• Utilize Node.js for lightweight services, backend-for-frontend components, integrations, or development tooling.

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL data models and queries.

• Implement reliable integrations through REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, and other integration methodologies.

• Containerize applications and contribute to cloud-based deployment strategies, configuration management, and environment consistency.

• Establish and maintain Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines featuring automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployments.

• Instrument applications with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable error reporting.

• Troubleshoot functional and production issues effectively.

• Enhance application performance, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and other engineers through design sessions, code reviews, planning, and continuous improvement.

• Oversee features from technical design through to implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of full-stack software development experience, including ownership of production applications.

• Strong hands-on expertise with Java and Spring technologies, especially Spring Boot, REST services, persistence, security, and automated testing.

• Solid frontend development background with Angular or React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, component-based design, state management, and modern testing techniques.

• Familiarity with Node.js for lightweight services, integrations, build tooling, or supporting components.

• Proven experience in designing REST APIs, microservices, and maintainable applications within distributed environments.

• Strong SQL skills with a history of designing efficient data models in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.

• Experience in developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.

• Excellent communication abilities, including producing clear technical documentation and facilitating client-facing workshops.

• Knowledge of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and secure API design principles.

• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies.

• Understanding of Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software delivery practices.

• Experience in developing Workforce Management applications or integrating with WFM platforms.

• Proficiency with AWS services and Amazon Connect.

• Background in building applications for CX solutions, contact centers, or customer service environments, including voice infrastructure or integrations using FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, Twilio, or similar communication platforms.

• Knowledge of forecasting, scheduling, adherence, routing, agent desktop, digital channels, or related operational concepts.

• Experience integrating applications with CRM, identity, HR, payroll, analytics, or other enterprise systems.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled solutions, including tools like Claude or GitHub Copilot.
