Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Python, AWS, Backend Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design and uphold scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines utilizing Python and SQL.

• Create data ingestion workflows through APIs and batch processing techniques.

• Transition manual and spreadsheet-based processes into automated systems, internal tools, and dashboards.

• Participate in server-rendered frontend development employing HTML, HTMX, and Jinja.

• Enhance testing, performance, security, monitoring, and data quality.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues.

• Engage in architectural decisions and technical planning.

• Take ownership of technical projects from development to deployment.

• Collaborate with product, data, and operations teams on architecture, reliability, and process enhancements.

• Allocate approximately 70% of time to backend tasks and 30% to frontend tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, particularly strong in backend engineering.

• Proficient English communication skills (B2–C1 or higher).

• Expertise in Python and SQL, with a background in building production backend services.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL; preference given to PostgreSQL.

• Experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse, including data ingestion and processing.

• Proficient in deploying and managing applications on AWS.

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, AWS CDK, or similar technologies, along with familiarity with CI/CD processes.

• Strong grasp of distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs and/or GraphQL, authentication, and authorization.

• Experience with unit and integration testing methodologies.

• Capability to work autonomously, lead technical initiatives, and provide effective solutions in a dynamic environment.

• Experience with HTML, HTMX, Jinja templates, or Python-based server-rendered applications (highly desirable).

• Familiarity with Apache Airflow or another data orchestration platform (a plus).

• Basic knowledge of React, Next.js, Angular, or JavaScript (a plus).
