Senior Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee engineering initiatives across various client projects from initial discovery to launch and ongoing maintenance.

• Design scalable, maintainable, and secure technical solutions that align with client objectives and business needs.

• Develop custom web applications, websites, APIs, integrations, and content management system implementations.

• Collaborate with designers, strategists, project managers, and quality assurance teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Create, maintain, debug, optimize, and enhance applications and user interfaces.

• Set up and manage local development environments utilizing version managers, containerization, and cutting-edge development tools.

• Configure and execute deployment workflows across development, staging, and production environments.

• Ensure that work adheres to standards for accessibility, performance, security, maintainability, and documentation.

• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities, while effectively communicating trade-offs and recommendations.

• Engage in support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of deployed client projects.

• Act as the primary engineering representative during client meetings, discovery sessions, technical workshops, and solution presentations.

• Lead technical planning and solution architecture for projects and enhancements.

• Establish and uphold engineering best practices, coding standards, and development workflows.

• Review pull requests and offer constructive feedback.

• Identify, prioritize, and assist in resolving technical debt.

• Assess emerging technologies, frameworks, and development methodologies.

• Support business development through estimates, proposals, prototypes, and technical explorations.

• Evaluate and implement AI-assisted development workflows.

• Contribute to internal tools, documentation, knowledge sharing, and process enhancements.

• Participate in internal initiatives, experimental projects, and retreats.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8+ years of development experience, including significant time in an agency or consultancy setting.

• Comprehensive full-stack experience in PHP CMS (Drupal, WordPress, Symfony, and Craft) and/or JavaScript stacks (React/NextJS, ReactNative).

• Proficient in developing themes and utilizing templating languages.

• Experience in building APIs and integrating with external APIs.

• Familiarity with deployments, development workflows, and local development setups using Docker.

• Proven experience deploying applications in modern cloud hosting and Platform-as-a-Service environments, such as Pantheon, Vercel, and Upsun.

• Skilled in creating CI/CD pipelines.

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and address non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated experience leading technical discussions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Hands-on experience responsibly utilizing AI development tools to expedite production-ready software delivery.

• Experience collaborating with designers using Figma or similar design applications.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with changing priorities.

• Experience making architectural decisions while balancing technical quality against project constraints.

• Education and training suitable for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with 5–8+ years of experience, ideally in an agency context.
