Senior Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the current production codebase for security vulnerabilities, scalability issues, performance bottlenecks, architectural risks, data protection concerns, and reliability challenges.

• Prioritize and implement practical enhancements for a secure and stable public launch.

• Take charge of the platform's technical health and architectural integrity.

• Manage features from end to end, including data modeling, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.

• Operate across the full stack with a strong emphasis on backend development while also contributing to Vue.js frontend work.

• Act as the internal technical liaison with external engineering partners.

• Review architecture and code, validate deliverables, and ensure compliance with product, security, scalability, and production standards.

• Collaborate with the existing platform engineer for effective technical knowledge transfer.

• Oversee production readiness and technical operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, release preparation, technical quality assurance, and escalation of production issues.

• Design, automate, and conduct functional, regression, load, and smoke testing.

• Identify and communicate technical risks proactively.

• Design and refine relational data models, PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, migrations, and Prisma models.

• Work across various integrations including Stripe Connect, LiveKit, Twilio, Zoom, Anthropic, and pgvector.

• Utilize AI coding agents to expedite development while ensuring correctness, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Contribute to the architecture of production AI systems, including LLM integrations, RAG, agents, context management, retrieval, evaluation, and production reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10 to 12+ years of experience in software engineering.

• Strong production experience with Vue.js.

• Extensive hands-on experience in relational database design.

• Preference for PostgreSQL experience.

• Familiarity with Nuxt and Prisma is an advantage.

• Proven experience managing significant portions of a production platform, encompassing backend architecture, databases, APIs, integrations, infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.

• Experience evaluating production applications for security, scalability, reliability, and performance threats.

• Background in identifying vulnerabilities, safeguarding sensitive customer data, diagnosing bottlenecks, and implementing practical enhancements.

• Strong expertise in backend engineering.

• Experience in reviewing and validating the work of engineers or external development partners.

• Ability to rapidly understand and contribute to an existing codebase and its technical direction.

• Experience managing production readiness, including monitoring, incident troubleshooting, release processes, technical quality assurance, and resolving critical production issues.

• Production experience with AI/LLM architecture, including RAG, agents, context management, and model integrations is a significant advantage.

• Experience using AI coding agents within a production codebase.

• Highly organized and self-sufficient, with the capability to work independently.

• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and assume increasing technical responsibilities in a startup environment.

• Demonstrated experience managing entire features and systems from architecture and data modeling through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing production support.

• Availability for at least 5–6 hours of an 8–5 or 9–6 MST schedule.
