Senior Frontend Engineer, VueJS/React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality frontend applications utilizing Vue.js and React.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, QA Engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements and designs into user-friendly experiences.

• Create reusable, maintainable, and thoroughly tested UI components and frontend architecture.

• Contribute to the frontend technical architecture, design choices, coding standards, and engineering best practices.

• Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.

• Manage complex application state using suitable patterns and tools.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Identify and troubleshoot performance, usability, scalability, and reliability issues.

• Collaborate with backend engineers to define and utilize effective APIs and enhance end-to-end performance.

• Engage in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Participate in technical planning, estimation, sprint planning, and the delivery of engineering projects.

• Enhance frontend development standards, tools, testing strategies, and CI/CD processes.

• Utilize AI tools and coding assistants to boost development efficiency, debugging, testing, documentation, and code quality while upholding engineering judgment and security standards.

• Communicate technical decisions, manage expectations, and guide projects toward successful outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with 5+ years of professional software development experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with Vue.js along with additional experience in React.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and modern web standards.

• Experience in building reusable UI components and working with component-based frontend architectures.

• Experience with CSS Modules, Sass/SCSS, PostCSS, Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, or similar technologies.

• Familiarity with vibe coding techniques and the capability to own and coordinate vibecoding sessions with supporting evidence.

• Strong understanding of frontend state management.

• Experience in integrating applications with REST APIs, authentication mechanisms, and backend services.

• Understanding of frontend performance optimization, including rendering performance, bundle optimization, lazy loading, caching, and code splitting.

• Ability to responsibly use AI tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, test generation, documentation, and technical research.

• Experience in writing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Familiarity with Vite, Webpack, npm/pnpm/yarn, and related frontend tooling.

• Strong experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated software delivery, cloud-based applications, and modern development environments.

• Good understanding of web accessibility (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility.

• Exposure to integrating AI-powered features or APIs into frontend applications is a plus.
