This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +2 more countries.
• Serve as a facilitator for teams and projects, ensuring a sustainable and long-lasting architecture.
• Design and assess scalable architectures specifically for e-commerce, PIM, and CMS initiatives.
• Model domains and data structures while creating interfaces between the frontend, backend, shops, and ERP systems.
• Develop prototypes, perform architecture reviews during pull requests, and participate in pair programming activities.
• Enhance existing systems through migrations, refactoring, and performance improvements.
• Guarantee testability and maintainability throughout extended product lifecycles.
• Take ownership of core application components, reusable parts, and interfaces across projects.
• Contribute to shaping build, deployment, and infrastructure processes, encompassing containers, CI/CD, and cloud hosting.
• Promote AI-assisted development in collaboration with subject-matter experts.
• Define the technical target architecture, standards, and technology priorities in conjunction with the Chapter Lead and Staff Engineers.
• Act as a technical escalation point for Team Leads and developers on critical projects.
• Share knowledge through training, reviews, and technical exchange sessions.
• Clearly articulate technical concepts to clients and executive management, while supporting the professional growth of others.
• Multiple years of experience as a Senior or Lead Engineer in developing complex web applications.
• Strong proficiency in PHP and Symfony.
• Experience with the long-term development and stewardship of applications.
• Full-stack expertise, covering data modeling and interfaces all the way to the frontend.
• Familiarity with Node.js, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience with reusable cross-project components, baseline setups, bundles, shared libraries, and recurring modules.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, container environments, and cloud operations, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and agentic workflows.
• Excellent English language skills.
• Proficient in German.
• Ideally, experience with Pimcore or in a digital agency setting.
