Senior Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Russia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services and APIs.

• Engage in architecture and design discussions.

• Create and assess technical design documents.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code with unit and integration test coverage.

• Enhance database schemas and queries for optimal performance and reliability under load.

• Construct event-driven and asynchronous workflows utilizing message brokers.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance production systems.

• Take part in incident response and post-mortem analyses.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and engineering best practices.

• Conduct code reviews and mentor Mid-level and Junior engineers.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Frontend, QA, and DevOps to deliver features comprehensively.

• Maintain clear API and technical documentation.

• Take ownership of services from design and implementation through to deployment, monitoring, and on-call support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional backend development experience.

• Strong expertise in Go, including idiomatic coding, concurrency patterns, and performance profiling.

• Comprehensive understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, encompassing schema design, indexing, query optimization, and migrations.

• Familiarity with Redis or similar caching solutions.

• Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs; knowledge of gRPC is a plus.

• Experience in documenting APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger.

• Understanding of microservices architecture and the trade-offs in distributed systems.

• Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS, and event-driven design.

• Experience with Docker and basic understanding of Kubernetes.

• Proficient with Git and CI/CD methodologies.

• Substantial experience with automated unit and integration testing.

• Knowledge of application security fundamentals, including the OWASP Top 10, secure management of secrets and user data, as well as authentication and authorization basics.

• Proficient in both written and spoken English.

• Preferred: experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Graylog, or OpenTelemetry.

• Preferred: background in high-load systems and performance profiling.

• Preferred: familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, including infrastructure-as-code.

• Preferred: experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.

• Preferred: experience in leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers.

• Preferred: background in gaming, e-commerce, fintech, or payments.

• Preferred: hands-on, current experience with modern AI tools like Claude, Copilot, or Cursor.
