Senior Frontend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Design and create innovative frontend features, guiding the process from requirements analysis to delivery.

• Propose and take ownership of frontend architectural solutions across various projects, including component architecture, state management, and shared libraries.

• Develop efficient, testable, and reusable UI components while advocating for consistent patterns and standards.

• Tackle complex performance issues and architectural challenges with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Diagnose intricate application and code problems, leading root-cause analysis across multiple systems.

• Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, collaborating with backend developers on the creation of new APIs.

• Utilize client-side storage solutions effectively.

• Maintain, refactor, and modernize application features, including legacy code.

• Analyze UX/UI projects and application specifications in collaboration with developers, QA, designers, and the product team.

• Provide project estimates and maintain technical documentation.

• Oversee project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

• Collaborate with external partners as necessary.

• Monitor requests, issues, work progress, and changes using project management tools.

• Conduct code reviews and mentor frontend developers.

• Leverage AI tools to assist in development, testing, and documentation, while promoting responsible team usage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar software development position.

• Expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.

• Extensive and proven experience using Vue in production applications.

• Strong understanding of semantic HTML5 and modern CSS3, including Flexbox, Grid, scalable styling architectures, and SCSS.

• In-depth knowledge of Vite or comparable build tools like Webpack, including configuration and optimization of builds.

• Awareness of challenges related to scalable, high-performance frontend applications, such as rendering performance, bundle size, and Core Web Vitals.

• Ability to write and maintain automated tests alongside clear technical documentation.

• Proficient in Git, with experience in branching and code review workflows.

• Demonstrated success in resolving cross-browser and cross-device compatibility issues.

• Solid experience in consuming and influencing REST and GraphQL APIs.

• Hands-on experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets or Server-Sent Events.

• Experience with iframe interactions and cross-origin communication methods like postMessage.

• Working knowledge of Docker for local development environments.

• Proven experience in mentoring developers or serving as a technical lead on frontend projects.

• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools, including AI coding assistants and MCP integrations.

• Proficient in spoken and written English with strong communication skills.
