Senior Front-End Full-Stack Engineer – Software Development Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Create secure, user-friendly, high-performance web applications that align with the mission and business goals of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

• Design responsive, accessible, and maintainable web applications utilizing React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Develop reusable UI components, dashboards, forms, workflows, and data visualizations leveraging design systems and component libraries.

• Create conversational and AI-driven user experiences, encompassing chat interfaces, streamed responses, feedback mechanisms, and error or fallback states.

• Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and facilitate asynchronous, streaming, and real-time interactions.

• Implement client-side input validation, error handling, state management, authentication flows, and role-aware UI behavior.

• Employ secure front-end engineering practices and adhere to accessibility standards throughout design, development, testing, and deployment.

• Author and maintain component, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Collaborate with product, design, backend, platform, cybersecurity, and AI/ML engineering teams.

• Assist in application deployment within AWS GovCloud, utilizing approved services such as API Gateway, Amazon S3, and Amazon Bedrock.

• Engage in code reviews and Agile software delivery methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing production web applications with React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Proficiency in designing and implementing reusable components, responsive interfaces, and inclusive user experiences.

• Experience in integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs and enterprise authentication and identity solutions.

• Solid understanding of client-side application architecture, including state management, error handling, and testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Git-based version control, code review practices, and Agile software development methodologies.

• Knowledge of secure software development and DevSecOps methodologies, including dependency management, secure configuration, secrets handling, SBOM processes, and software supply-chain integrity.

• Experience with component libraries or design systems, like Material UI (MUI).

• Must hold and maintain an active Secret clearance at the time of application.

• Must be aligned with Eastern Time Zone core business hours.

• Relevant experience and educational background: 5 years with a bachelor's degree, 3 years with a master's degree, 0 years with a PhD, or 9 years with a high school diploma or equivalent for Software Development 3.

• Relevant experience and educational background: 9 years with a bachelor's degree, 7 years with a master's degree, 4 years with a PhD, or 13 years with a high school diploma or equivalent for Software Development 4.

• Preferred: Over 8 years of experience.

• Experience in developing conversational, AI-driven, or generative AI user interfaces.

• Familiarity with consuming streaming APIs, server-sent events, WebSockets, or other real-time communication methods.

• Experience integrating applications with AWS services in AWS GovCloud environments.

• Proven ability to collaborate closely with backend, platform, cybersecurity, and AI/ML engineering teams.

• Knowledge of containerized application delivery and CI/CD pipelines.

• Must maintain a home work environment that meets both company and government security requirements.

• Must be available to work during assigned East Coast core business hours.
