Senior Front End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and execute intricate, high-performing, and accessible features and interaction flows within the React Native mobile application.

• Oversee the technical design and implementation of complex features from start to finish, encompassing product requirements, deployment, and monitoring.

• Identify and rectify performance bottlenecks, enhance rendering, minimize bundle size, and boost mobile app responsiveness.

• Suggest and lead architectural decisions, assess tradeoffs, and convey technical recommendations effectively.

• Guide Software Engineers I, II, and III through code reviews, collaborative programming, and technical mentorship.

• Establish, promote, and refine engineering practices regarding component architecture, testing, accessibility, and mobile deployment.

• Work alongside Product Managers, Designers, QA, and engineering teams to transform product objectives into technical solutions.

• Engage in the on-call rotation, assist with root cause analysis, and enhance long-term system reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial experience in developing production React Native applications.

• Demonstrated history of owning and delivering complex, multi-component mobile features within a team setting.

• Familiarity with the complete mobile development lifecycle — from development to app store submission and post-release monitoring.

• Experience in building mobile applications supported by large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems catering to millions of users.

• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript — producing clean, type-safe, and well-tested production code.

• Extensive React Native knowledge, including performance enhancements, native module integration, intricate animations, and platform-specific considerations.

• Strong background in Expo and its ecosystem.

• Proficiency with monorepo tools (Yarn workspaces or similar).

• Solid grasp of mobile testing strategies, including Jest, and experience with Maestro for end-to-end testing.

• Experience with CI/CD processes for mobile and Expo/EAS workflows, covering build pipelines, OTA updates, and app store deployments.

• Understanding of mobile observability, including crash reporting, performance monitoring, and analytics integration.

• Comfortable working independently with minimal guidance on ambiguous challenges.

• Effective communicator capable of explaining technical decisions to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in a fully remote engineering organization.

• Ability to switch contexts between detailed technical tasks and collaborative planning.

• Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools for coding, planning, scoping, and code reviews is a notable asset.

• Familiarity with integrating AI tools into engineering workflows is a notable asset.
