Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, Full-Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Strategic Project Leads to manage customer programs from the initial scoping phase to the final data delivery.

• Transform unclear customer briefs into detailed technical plans.

• Determine what elements to reuse, extend, configure, or develop, and validate any gaps prior to coding.

• Document the scope, implementation, deliverables, and associated risks.

• Develop capture flows, task logic, data pipelines, and delivery mechanisms across web, mobile, and backend platforms.

• Deploy production code utilized by actual participants.

• Utilize coding agents and evaluations during the development process, and educate others on these practices.

• Oversee data redaction, validation, provenance, and ensure clean delivery.

• Design quality checks and human-review pathways, measuring their effectiveness.

• Work alongside the research team to maintain data quality and provide evidence.

• Collaborate with core engineering to integrate recurring custom builds into the primary platform.

• Identify ongoing customer needs and assist in prioritizing future platform capabilities.

• Suggest new program types and enhancements to platform capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience delivering production full-stack software.

• Proven experience engaging directly with technical customers as a forward deployed engineer, solutions engineer, or an early founding engineer.

• Proficiency in building and managing data pipelines: ingestion, cleaning, redaction, and delivery.

• Practical experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar, with significant production involvement.

• Background in working with LLMs and a comprehension of their evaluation processes.

• Comfortable dealing with non-determinism and reasoning about behavior across distributions.

• Strong writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate trade-offs to researchers and project managers.

• Located in the Bay Area, with occasional travel for customer engagements.

• Nice to have: experience in human data, labeling, or evaluation pipelines.
