Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assume technical leadership for enterprise onboardings, overseeing everything from the initial architecture discussions to a successful rollout.

• Create and implement identity and authentication solutions utilizing OIDC, Entra ID, and Frontline Identity.

• Execute SCIM provisioning, REST APIs, and integrate with SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, UKG, and other operational systems.

• Support and empower customer IT teams, partners, and external development collaborators in delivering reliable solutions that they can manage autonomously.

• Develop initial integrations or prototypes when it expedites the rollout, then document and transfer ownership of these to the relevant teams.

• Design agents, MCP tool access, and agent-to-agent scenarios within enterprise settings, addressing authentication and data boundaries.

• Align project requirements with project management, IT, Security, business units, and works councils, while making informed technical decisions.

• Identify and report gaps in products and engineering.

• Travel to customer sites regularly, approximately 10 to 30 percent of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 3 to 5 years (or more) of experience in IT or technology consulting, Customer Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or SaaS implementation, with a significant focus on enterprise environments.

• Practical experience with enterprise integration and identity management: SSO and authentication (OIDC, OAuth, Entra ID, or similar technologies), REST APIs, and API-based integrations in real-world enterprise IT settings.

• Technical ownership on the client side in enterprise projects, collaborating on technical decisions with IT, Security, and business departments—not just coordinating them.

• Strong technical proficiency without the necessity of writing product code full-time: you can read code, assess a design, debug an integration, and create a functional prototype.

• C1-level German or higher along with fluent English proficiency.

• Familiarity with SCIM provisioning and integrations with HR or workforce systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, or UKG (preferred).

• A solid, current understanding of agentic AI, including MCP, A2A, EMA, and associated authentication considerations (preferred).

• Prior experience as a Customer Engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer at a product company (preferred).

• Experience with n8n or similar workflow automation tools, logs, metrics, dashboards, employee representation, or data protection in enterprise contexts (preferred).

• Legal authorization to work in the European Union or the United Kingdom without requiring visa sponsorship.
