Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

📋 Description

• Drive the planning, scoping, and execution of intricate implementations — foresee obstacles, manage client timelines, escalate issues, and ensure readiness for launch across various functions.

• Act as the technical escalation point for integration and custom implementation challenges. Troubleshoot deep integration issues and devise robust solutions tailored to the specific constraints of clients.

• Conduct technical discovery sessions with clients, convert vague requirements into defined stories, and establish trust with customer stakeholders.

• Recommend and shape architectural decisions — design implementation strategies optimized for product strengths and constraints; suggest process or feature enhancements based on insights from real-world deployments.

• Represent the Forward Deployed Engineering function in product feedback, feature prioritization, and cross-functional alignment (collaborating with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Product Marketing, etc.).

• Foster continuous improvement: develop and take ownership of exemplary delivery playbooks, onboarding processes, internal training, and provide technical mentorship for junior FDEs.

• Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders; influence roadmap priorities through structured, data-driven feedback.

• This position will involve significant hands-on coding, including writing and debugging production and integration code in languages such as Python, JavaScript, and SQL as part of client implementations and internal tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• 6-8+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or technical product/program management.

• Extensive expertise across multiple product domains; capacity to debug complex integrations and create custom solutions.

• Excellent communication skills — capable of leading discovery sessions, managing client expectations, presenting technical trade-offs, and influencing stakeholders.

• Proven experience in mentoring or leading other engineers, developing documentation/playbooks, and contributing to internal process enhancements and knowledge sharing.

• Skills in cross-functional coordination, organizational leadership in delivery environments, and the ability to manage multiple customer timelines simultaneously.

• Proficient in coding with SQL, JavaScript, and Python.
