Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Production Solution Delivery: Spearhead significant customer technical initiatives by deploying production-quality systems, crafting and developing reference architectures, custom applications, and integrating data ingestion and ML/AI models.

• Transformational Impact: Assist strategic clients in executing transformative big data projects, which encompass comprehensive design, construction, and launch of industry-leading big data and AI solutions. Collaborate with engagement managers to outline technical delivery tasks with customer input.

• Empower Customers: Advise clients on architecture and design; initiate or execute customer projects that facilitate their successful comprehension, assessment, and adoption of Databricks.

• Own the Architecture: Direct architecture and design choices, ensuring that solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with customer requirements and Databricks best practices.

• Collaborate with the Databricks technical team, Project Manager, Architect, and Customer team to guarantee the technical elements of the engagement are delivered to fulfill customer needs.

• Partner with Engineering and Databricks Customer Support to provide product and implementation insights and to facilitate swift resolutions for engagement-specific product and support challenges.

• Customer Immersion: Integrate with customer teams, interacting with stakeholders from technical individual contributors to executives to gain a thorough understanding of challenges and deliver impactful solutions.

• Reusable Assets & Scale: Contribute to accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that enhance impact across various accounts and shape the Databricks product development roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.

• Proficient in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and contemporary frameworks.

• Familiar with two or more popular Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP), with deep expertise in at least one.

• Extensive experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark™ and knowledge of the Spark runtime internals.

• Understanding of CI/CD processes for production deployments.

• Knowledgeable in MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.

• Experienced in designing and deploying efficient production end-to-end data architectures and applications that integrate data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user-facing interfaces.

• Proven experience in delivering technical projects - managing scope, timelines, and measurable results, while translating complex concepts into practical solutions.

• Strong documentation and whiteboarding abilities.

• Background in working with enterprise clients and resolving conflicts among a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Demonstrated skill development in technical areas, with a curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new technologies that aid in the deployment and integration of Databricks-based solutions for customer projects.

• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
