Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, AI Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop AI applications, agents, skills, connectors, and workflow automations that address business challenges and enhance Reddit's operations.

• Convert unclear business challenges into AI-driven workflows and technical implementation strategies.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams, integrating as necessary to gain insights into their processes and establish rapport with AI advocates, developers, and domain experts.

• Comprehend departmental objectives, tasks to be accomplished, existing workflows, systems, data, and success metrics.

• Create prototypes within days and transition priority workflows to production within weeks when possible.

• Incorporate sanctioned data, tools, APIs, and actions into secure, end-to-end workflows.

• Establish evaluations, review checkpoints, human-in-the-loop controls, observability, and supporting evidence.

• Deploy reliable production workflows with governance, support, reversibility, and designated owners.

• Hand over maintainable workflows to departmental owners to lessen long-term reliance on the team.

• Communicate recurring needs, obstacles, and infrastructure requirements back to the AI Platform Hub.

• Transform localized successes into reusable agents, skills, templates, connectors, playbooks, and platform patterns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development, including AI applications, agents, automations, or internal tools.

• Strong engineering principles and production judgment; adept at converting vague business requirements into actionable solutions.

• Practical experience in agent development and deployment, encompassing tool/API utilization, orchestration, state management, and failure handling.

• Familiarity with enterprise integrations using MCP or similar tool integration methodologies.

• Knowledge of LLM retrieval and structured output generation.

• Dependable AI operations: cloud deployment, access control, observability, evaluations, failure analysis, and continuous improvement.

• Proficient in both technical and non-technical communication; able to clarify trade-offs and integrate feedback effectively.

• Experience with enterprise business systems, internal tools, or embedded delivery methods.

• Proven track record of creating reusable components or assisting teams in the adoption of new tools.

• Familiarity with redesigning business workflows and evaluating improvements in quality, speed, capacity, or cost.

• Experience in developing user-facing AI tools and fostering adoption through feedback, onboarding, and training.
