Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of a build stream from inception to execution within a team, encompassing problem identification, implementation, operational management, and instrumentation.

• Design, develop, and maintain production-level Generative AI agents, workflows, and applications.

• Create full-stack software solutions utilizing Python and React.

• Deploy and manage services on AWS through Terraform and GitHub Actions.

• Establish evaluation methods, observability, provenance, confirmation controls, and human-in-the-loop mechanisms for AI systems.

• Implement security measures such as authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, and error handling to meet enterprise security, audit, PHI, and reliability standards.

• Integrate AI services with both enterprise and legacy systems via APIs, data platforms, and event streams.

• Oversee shared capabilities and prevent redundant builds.

• Collaborate with vendor delivery teams as needed.

• Partner with examiners, nurse reviewers, and operations personnel to define service scopes, workflows, and UI modifications.

• Offer technical mentorship and guidance to Junior AI Engineers.

• Troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analyses, and enhance the performance of production AI services.

• Assess and suggest enhancements to architecture, platform capabilities, and engineering processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field from an accredited institution is required.

• A Master’s degree is preferred.

• Minimum of six (6) years of experience in software engineering.

• At least three (3) years of experience in delivering production Generative AI agents, workflows, or applications, which includes evaluation, failure management, and a human review loop, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Practical experience in building and operating production workloads on AWS is required.

• Proficient in Python, React, GitHub Actions, and Terraform, with a focus on CI/CD and infrastructure ownership.

• Strong full-stack engineering aptitude in Python and React, with a solid understanding of SQL, REST APIs, and service design.

• Experience in deploying production Generative AI agents, workflows, and applications, covering tool usage, orchestration, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop methodologies.

• Capability to implement services that align with enterprise architecture, governance, PHI management, and compliance requirements.

• Experience in machine learning, model fine-tuning, and/or graph databases is preferred.

• Familiarity with PydanticAI or similar agent frameworks, agent observability, and AI Ops / LLMOps is a plus.
