Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the project context and requirements prior to the implementation of AI.

• Determine areas where AI practices, tools, or agentic solutions can deliver measurable benefits.

• Convert project and business requirements into opportunities for AI adoption.

• Lead the process of AI adoption from evaluation to implementation and operationalization.

• Assist delivery teams in incorporating AI practices into development, testing, quality assurance, and operational workflows.

• Conduct workshops, onboarding sessions, and enablement activities.

• Implement or modify reference solutions and accelerators as needed.

• Provide support after rollout and address any adoption or technical challenges.

• Assess adoption rates and gather feedback from users.

• Convey lessons learned back to the AI research and development function as well as the AI software development lifecycle.

• Contribute to the creation of reusable rollout playbooks, patterns, documentation, and guidance.

• Collaborate across product ownership, project management, engineering, quality assurance, and operational aspects without becoming a permanent dependency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in delivering production software.

• Experience in a Senior or Tech Lead role.

• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and the software delivery lifecycle.

• Familiarity with architecture, APIs, testing, delivery practices, maintainability, and production software.

• Capability to quickly grasp unfamiliar systems and apply principles across different languages and technology stacks.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted software development (AI SDLC).

• Experience in identifying and extracting business and engineering requirements.

• Skills in stakeholder interviewing and proposing pragmatic solutions.

• Hands-on experience with AI agents and agentic workflows.

• Familiarity with LLM APIs and model integration.

• Experience with CI/CD and contemporary software delivery practices.

• Practical knowledge of evaluating and testing AI systems.

• Strong practices in software quality and engineering.

• Experience in production support and troubleshooting.

• Awareness of security, privacy, and responsible AI considerations.

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring techniques.

• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Comfort with rapid context switching.

• A high degree of ownership and autonomy.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity effectively.

• Nice to have: Experience in LLM-based application development.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

• Nice to have: Familiarity with tool/function calling and protocols like MCP.

• Nice to have: Experience in API design and integration.
