Senior Forward Deploy Engineer – Fullstack, Java/React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create fullstack software solutions, mainly utilizing React and Java, by transforming customer needs and addressing product gaps into deliverable outcomes.

• Develop comprehensive tests, resolve bugs, and ensure the security of the codebase.

• Collaborate across various codebases and products, including handling escalated issues.

• Engage with customers and field teams to grasp environments, objectives, and limitations.

• Convert vague requirements into distinct technical strategies.

• Incorporate insights from the field into product and engineering planning while advocating for customer interests.

• Occasionally assist with pre-sales scoping activities.

• Design and implement integrations that link SentinelOne products to customer environments.

• Work together with customer engineers on developing solutions and facilitating knowledge transfer.

• Create runbooks, integration documentation, and high-level technical communications.

• Contribute enhancements and resolutions to the core platform.

• Collaborate with platform teams to review and sustain upstream contributions.

• Develop tools that formalize repeatable processes and expand the Forward Deploy function.

• Architect comprehensive solutions for intricate challenges that span multiple codebases and teams.

• Document trade-offs and implementation specifics and review technical specifications thoroughly.

• Conduct code reviews emphasizing quality, security, and efficiency.

• Address customer and internal escalations on an ad-hoc basis, without a standard on-call schedule.

• Support colleagues, provide constructive feedback, and engage in weekly sync meetings and daily Slack stand-ups.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong computer science foundation with over 5 years of engineering experience, encompassing both backend and frontend development.

• Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing distributed systems or data-intensive services.

• Proven history of leading significant projects from start to finish amidst ambiguity, involving multiple stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating directly with customers or senior stakeholders to refine technical solutions.

• Deep knowledge in at least one production programming language, with a strong preference for Java and a minimum of 5 years of experience noted.

• Familiarity with at least one additional programming language.

• Capability to quickly learn new tools and codebases as required by the work.

• Experience with modern Java, React, TypeScript, Kafka, Redis, GraphQL, Node.js, and SentinelOne’s platform.

• Preference for experience in the cybersecurity field, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, log pipelines, detection engineering, or threat hunting.

• Ability to effectively communicate between engineers and non-engineers without sacrificing accuracy.

• Strong written communication skills across tickets, design documents, customer runbooks, and executive briefings.
