Senior Fortinet Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and provide support for advanced Fortinet security solutions.

• Guide customer interactions from initial discovery and design phases through to implementation and documentation.

• Deploy and manage environments utilizing FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP.

• Architect and configure Secure SD-WAN, ADVPN, BGP, OSPF, IPsec VPN, and remote access solutions.

• Execute firewall migrations from Palo Alto, Cisco, SonicWall, Check Point, and other platforms.

• Diagnose intricate networking, security, wireless, and authentication issues.

• Collaborate effectively with customers, project managers, architects, and technology partners.

• Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical escalation point.

• Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Fortinet partnership through continuous certification and technical proficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in network security, firewall, or infrastructure engineering.

• More than 3 years of hands-on experience with Fortinet design and implementation.

• Advanced understanding of FortiGate/FortiOS.

• Familiarity with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.

• Strong grasp of routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, high availability, and network segmentation.

• Proficiency in VPN technologies, SD-WAN, dynamic routing, and multi-site configurations.

• Demonstrated ability to lead customer-facing technical projects and independently resolve complex issues.

• Exceptional communication and customer relationship skills.

• Active Fortinet NSE 4 certification.

• Preferred: NSE 7 certification, NSE 8 certification, and additional Fortinet certifications in Security Operations, SASE, Cloud, or Infrastructure.

• Bonus: Experience in MSP, consulting, systems integration, or VAR environments.

• Bonus: Experience with large-scale enterprise network security deployments.

• Bonus: Familiarity with FortiSASE, FortiNAC, FortiAuthenticator, FortiClient EMS, FortiWeb, or FortiSIEM.

• Bonus: Experience with Azure or AWS network security.
