Senior Firmware Engineer, NIC Firmware

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with architecture and various software design teams.

• Integrate new features into the core of Mellanox NIC firmware.

• Create verification tests for advanced functionalities within a highly complex and sophisticated Firmware testing environment.

• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of system debugging, networking technology, and stacks, along with the relationships between hardware, firmware, and software.

• Understand how a large software project is operated, maintained, qualified, and released, as well as how Hardware and Firmware are developed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience.

• Strong expertise in C and C++ programming languages.

• Solid comprehension of networking protocols.

• Familiarity with PCIe and virtualization technologies.

• Excellent understanding of fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.

• Scripting experience in Python and/or Bash.

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.

• Self-driven, independent, and an effective team player with outstanding interpersonal skills.

• Extensive knowledge of RDMA stacks (RoCE, InfiniBand) and low-latency networking.

• Experience in high-performance or large-scale computing environments.

• Proven background in distributed systems and scalability challenges.
