Hardware Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the long-term architectural vision, strategy, and roadmap for Hardware Asset Management within ServiceNow.

• Lead the design of scalable and secure HAM solutions that encompass the entire hardware asset lifecycle.

• Convert business requirements from Finance, Procurement, Operations, and IT into architectural designs and technical specifications.

• Serve as the subject matter expert and lead architect for the ServiceNow HAM module.

• Architect the ServiceNow CMDB for hardware assets, focusing on data integrity, relationships, normalization, reconciliation, and discovery strategies.

• Design and implement automated workflows utilizing Service Catalog, Flow Designer, and custom modules.

• Oversee integrations between ServiceNow HAM, enterprise systems, network discovery tools, and asset inventory systems.

• Establish data quality standards, governance frameworks, and reconciliation processes.

• Architect solutions related to hardware asset costs, depreciation, leases, contracts, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.

• Automate financial processes and reporting associated with assets.

• Develop strategies aimed at asset utilization, lifecycle optimization, and proactive refresh planning.

• Set architectural standards, best practices, and governance policies.

• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to developers, administrators, and implementation partners.

• Lead technical design reviews.

• Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, IT, and Compliance leaders to gather requirements, build consensus, and facilitate adoption.

• Monitor features of ServiceNow HAM, industry trends, and emerging technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant experience; a Bachelor's Degree in a related field may substitute for 5 years of experience.

• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT.

• A minimum of 5 years in a ServiceNow Architect position.

• Deep and demonstrable expertise with the ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) module.

• Extensive hands-on experience and architectural expertise with ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery, specifically for hardware assets.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing complex integrations between ServiceNow HAM and other systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of the entire hardware asset lifecycle.

• Proficiency in ServiceNow, including Flow Designer, Service Portal, Custom Application Development, JavaScript scripting, and platform best practices.

• Strong grasp of ITIL principles, particularly as they relate to asset management.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

• ServiceNow CIS-HAM certification is highly beneficial.

• ServiceNow CSA and other relevant CIS certifications.

• Experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM).

• Knowledge of ISO 55000 or similar industry asset management standards.

• Experience with mobile asset management solutions within ServiceNow.

• Familiarity with depreciation, amortization, and lease accounting.
