Senior Firmware Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Investigate reported issues in automotive ECUs.

• Identify the root cause of failures related to firmware or embedded software.

• Contribute to enhancing product reliability.

• Analyze incidents from vehicles in the field or units returned under warranty (RMA).

• Utilize debugging tools, log analysis, code review, and software diagnostics.

• Analyze execution traces, system events, memory, vehicular communications, and firmware versions.

• Determine the origin of failures and anomalous behaviors in ECUs.

• Reproduce issues in the lab and validate technical hypotheses.

• Collaborate with hardware and systems teams.

• Develop root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) recommendations.

• Work with zonal ECUs, gateways, body controllers, ADAS systems, connectivity platforms, and other automotive electronic modules.

• Identify systemic issues and define actions to prevent recurrence.

• Advanced programming in C/C++ for embedded systems (5+ years).

• Advanced development and debugging of Embedded Firmware (5+ years).

• Advanced Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills (5+ years).

• Advanced software and firmware failure analysis (5+ years).

• Advanced debugging of embedded systems (5+ years).

• Advanced analysis of logs, traces, and diagnostic files (5+ years).

• Advanced knowledge of automotive ECU architecture (5+ years).

• Advanced understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, LIN) (5+ years).

• Advanced hardware-software integration skills (5+ years).

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) (3-5+ years).

• Advanced reproduction of failures in the lab and validation of hypotheses (5+ years).

• Intermediate to advanced management of Flash memory, bootloaders, and firmware updates (3-5+ years).

• Advanced technical documentation and analysis report preparation (5+ years).

• Advanced diagnostic skills for issues in automotive ECUs (5+ years).

• Intermediate to advanced skills in Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) (3-5+ years).
