Senior Fire Protection Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with engineering and/or design teams on designated projects.

• Provide effective and economical alternative solutions.

• Create and present client reports that recommend updates for compliance and/or operational efficiency of fire, suppression, and/or life safety systems.

• Offer references for codes and standards, conduct document research, and prepare reports and interpretations concerning fire protection.

• Engage with jurisdictional authorities and clients to address compliance inquiries.

• Continuously review and stay informed about evolving codes, standards, industry specifications, and practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of experience and nationally recognized certification(s).

• Successful completion of the EIT Examination.

• Eligibility to sit for the Professional Engineering examination within a 4-year timeframe.

• Willingness to travel 50%, primarily within the US and Canada.

• Authorized to work in the United States.

• Must reside within 1 hour of a major US airport.

• Proficient understanding of Fire, Life Safety, and Building Codes as well as NFPA Standards.

• Experience in field engineering and consulting within fire protection.

• Familiarity with or knowledge of passive fire protection systems.

• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and budget constraints.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in MS Office and MS Project software.
