Senior Financial Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Extract, clean, and validate financial data from diverse sources to guarantee accuracy and consistency in reporting.

• Perform variance analysis and examine discrepancies in financial records and transactions.

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing reconciliations and analyses.

• Work collaboratively with accounting teams to pinpoint process enhancements and automation opportunities.

• Generate ad-hoc financial analyses and forecasts to aid in business planning and decision-making.

• Create documentation for financial data models, formulas, and analytical methods.

• Ensure adherence to financial reporting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a similar analytical role.

• Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formula development.

• Experience with SQL or database query languages for data extraction and manipulation.

• Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in business intelligence or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, with the capability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is preferred.

• Proficiency in Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis is preferred.

• Experience with data warehousing or ETL processes is preferred.

• Familiarity with financial consolidation or budgeting software is preferred.
