Senior Financial Controller – AI-Enabled

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the financial close processes for both month-end and year-end for businesses located in the US.

• Utilize AI technologies like ChatGPT Advanced Data Analysis and Microsoft Copilot to examine financial datasets, detect spending irregularities, and produce narrative performance reports.

• Create and sustain rolling cash flow forecasts, financial models, and annual budgets by leveraging AI-assisted forecasting tools.

• Implement and manage AI-driven OCR and AP/AR automation solutions to enhance invoice handling and minimize human error.

• Compile and deliver monthly financial performance packages, encompassing P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, to the executive leadership team.

• Collaborate with external CPA firms on tax compliance and preparation obligations.

• Offer strategic financial insights and modernize conventional financial workflows for expanding US-based SMEs.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6+ years of progressive experience in Financial Controlling, FP&A, Corporate Finance, or in a Controller role.

• Demonstrated experience supporting companies or clients based in the U.S.

• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Practical experience overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Experience in preparing and analyzing P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, budgets, and financial forecasts.

• Advanced skills in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite.

• Hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot for financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and process automation.

• Familiarity with financial automation, OCR, and AP/AR tools like Bill.com or Dext.

• Proficient in English (C1 level), with strong skills in executive communication and presentation.

• Expertise in Excel and financial modeling techniques.

• Experience in implementing AI-driven financial workflows.

• Background in cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.

• Experience coordinating with external CPA firms on tax and compliance issues.

• Proficient in creating automated reports, macros, and complex Excel formulas.
