Senior Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in the monthly and quarterly corporate forecasting process as well as the annual operating planning cycle.

• Manage and communicate the Finance forecast calendar.

• Collaborate with Finance & Strategy teams to enhance forecast precision.

• Distribute monthly forecast and reporting packages that include key business metrics, P&L, and headcount.

• Identify and highlight risks and opportunities.

• Oversee consolidated income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet forecasts.

• Work alongside the Finance Systems team to sustain financial planning tools.

• Contribute to the development of Samsara’s AI-enhanced financial data and systems landscape.

• Lead the long-term planning process and modeling efforts.

• Align the financial model with strategic priorities and essential business assumptions.

• Prepare materials for the board of directors, conduct executive leadership financial reviews, and provide CFO financial reporting.

• Serve as a cross-functional liaison to ensure stakeholder alignment and the implementation of changes across teams and systems.

• Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis for informed business decision-making.

• Advocate for and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles as the company expands globally and opens new offices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Strategic Finance or FP&A.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

• Strong skills in financial modeling and analysis.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets.

• Competency in PowerPoint / Google Slides.

• Capacity to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior management.

• Proactive and highly organized self-starter, capable of working independently under tight deadlines while paying attention to detail.

• Strong problem-solving mindset with curiosity about the application of AI in finance processes.

• Proven track record of delivering iterative improvements and measurable results.

• Preferred industry experience in SaaS-based technology companies.

• Proficiency with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, and Cursor.

• Proficiency with Databricks.

• Familiarity with FP&A tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning or similar planning systems and NetSuite.
