Senior Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Execute intricate account reconciliations, conduct financial analyses, and prepare journal entries.

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including activities related to month-end and year-end.

• Examine financial transactions to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant.

• Investigate and resolve issues related to accounting, reporting, and financial systems.

• Monitor and analyze accounts receivable, revenue, payroll-related transactions, and inter-unit accounts.

• Prepare reconciliations, working papers, and documentation to support internal and external audits.

• Identify financial risks, gaps in controls, and potential improvements in financial processes.

• Develop and uphold financial procedures, documentation, and reporting tools.

• Offer guidance regarding accounting standards, financial policies, procedures, and compliance obligations.

• Support enhancements to financial systems and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in financial operations, accounting, financial reporting, and complex reconciliations.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, financial reporting, and audit requirements.

• Experience in preparing and reviewing journal entries as well as month-end and year-end financial activities.

• Familiarity with ERP and financial information systems.

• Experience in supporting internal and/or external audits.

• Competence in interpreting and applying accounting standards and financial policies.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

• Capability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and demonstrate sound professional judgment.

• Experience in identifying and implementing improvements in financial processes and controls is highly preferred.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

• Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a Valid Work Permit is required.
