This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver comprehensive lifecycle support for AC Substation systems, encompassing pre-commissioning, start-up, and ongoing maintenance.
• Perform electrical and mechanical pre-commissioning tests on auxiliary systems, HV Breakers, HV Disconnect Switches, and ACIS substation facilities.
• Conduct functionality verification of instruments to facilitate seamless system start-up.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and responsive corrective maintenance as required.
• Carry out thorough equipment inspections to detect risks or performance degradation.
• Act as the primary technical contact for on-site troubleshooting activities.
• Diagnose intricate technical problems, document root causes (RCA), and implement effective solutions.
• Engage in the 24/7 Support hotline based on rotational requirements.
• Interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLD), general arrangement drawings, and installation/commissioning procedures.
• Function as an EHS leader on-site and enforce LOTO procedures.
• Ensure adherence to GE, OSHA, NFPA70, and project-specific safety regulations.
• Maintain site logs and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Oversee timesheets, expenses, and status reports.
• Represent GE GSI in a technical capacity and cultivate customer relationships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of demonstrated field experience in electrical power systems.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
• Willingness and availability to travel 75% of the time.
• Valid authorization to work in the US.
• Availability to work at project sites throughout the US.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of ACIS substation equipment, particularly Circuit Breakers and Disconnect Switches.
• Experience in supervising high-voltage substations is mandatory.
• Familiarity with GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) is highly advantageous.
• Solid understanding of EHS requirements for high-voltage project sites.
• Knowledge of NETA, NERC, and IEC standards.
• OSHA 30 and NFPA70 certifications are highly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to manage multiple contractors and interfaces simultaneously.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and detail.

• Ability to operate effectively under time constraints while upholding standards.
