This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Report directly to the ACIS Field Operations Manager
• Deliver comprehensive lifecycle support for AC Substation systems, encompassing pre-commissioning, start-up, and ongoing maintenance
• Conduct electrical and mechanical pre-commissioning tests on auxiliary systems, HV Breakers, HV Disconnect Switches, and ACIS substation facilities
• Execute instrument functionality verification to facilitate system start-up
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive corrective maintenance
• Perform thorough inspections of equipment to detect risks or signs of performance decline
• Act as the primary technical contact for on-site troubleshooting
• Diagnose intricate technical challenges, document root causes (RCA), and implement effective solutions
• Participate in the 24/7 Support hotline based on rotational requirements
• Read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLD), general arrangement layouts, and installation/commissioning protocols
• Serve as an EHS leader on-site and enforce LOTO procedures
• Ensure adherence to GE, OSHA, NFPA70, and project-specific safety regulations
• Maintain site logs and prepare technical reports
• Oversee timesheets, expenses, and status updates
• Represent GE GSI technically to clients and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Offer technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated field experience in electrical power systems
• Proficiency in English is essential
• Willingness to travel up to 75%
• Valid US work authorization necessary
• Availability for assignments on project sites throughout the US
• Strong practical knowledge of ACIS substation equipment, particularly Circuit Breakers and Disconnect Switches
• Experience in supervising high-voltage substations
• Familiarity with GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) is highly desirable
• Comprehensive understanding of EHS regulations related to high-voltage project sites
• Knowledge of NETA, NERC, and IEC standards
• OSHA 30 and NFPA70 certification is strongly preferred
• Capability to troubleshoot under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in dynamic settings
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and interfaces concurrently
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail
• Effective problem-solving skills in construction environments
