Senior Field Property Claims Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations into claims and assess liability.

• Verify coverage and evaluate damages.

• Provide updates on claim status and negotiate settlements within designated payment authority.

• Handle all varieties of claims adjustments.

• Examine damaged properties and vehicles to ascertain claim-related damages.

• Estimate repair or replacement costs for damaged or stolen properties and vehicles.

• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.

• Initiate the sale of salvage vehicles, personal property, and other salvage items.

• Report losses due to theft, fraud, and arson to state and industry agencies as required.

• Travel between policyholder residences within the Binghamton, NY area.

• Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, repair facilities, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, expert witnesses, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.

• Engage in CAT deployments away from home, typically lasting 2-3 weeks.

• Advocate for safety and adhere to company safety and ergonomic standards.

• Represent the Company in a professional manner and perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• Outside insurance education (CPCU, GCA) is preferred.

• Successful completion of the Senior Claims Representative prerequisites, proficiencies, and examinations as required based on unit assignment.

• External candidates should possess at least one year of prior claims experience or two years of related industry experience.

• Maintain an active adjusters license in applicable states.

• Strong communication skills.

• Proficient in using personal computers.

• Valid driver's license is necessary.

• Must be bondable.

• Residency within the Binghamton, NY hiring region is required.

• Must participate in 1-3 CAT deployments annually.

• Capability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, pulling, sorting, pushing, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, key entering, reading, speaking, seeing, and writing in English.

• Ability to work in field conditions with uncontrolled outdoor environments, excessive noise, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, hazardous areas, and potential respiratory or skin irritants.
