Senior Field Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary technical authority for strategic customer interactions throughout the EMEA region.

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with CTOs, Chief Architects, CIO organizations, and senior technology decision-makers.

• Convert customer business goals into technology strategies and solution architectures utilizing Wind River technologies.

• Oversee technical strategy for intricate, multi-year digital transformation initiatives.

• Provide architectural leadership across Cloud, Kubernetes, Enterprise Linux, Virtualization, Edge Computing, AI infrastructure, and mission-critical platforms.

• Propel solution innovation that uncovers new revenue streams within current customer accounts.

• Direct technical governance during strategic sales processes from initial qualification to contract finalization.

• Manage the technical architecture for complex RFP/RFI submissions involving multiple vendors, technologies, and workstreams.

• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to influence future product trajectories based on customer needs and market trends.

• Represent Wind River at executive briefings, industry events, customer workshops, and technology forums.

• Create architectural documentation, executive presentations, and technical strategy reports.

• Mentor solution architects and pre-sales engineers throughout the organization.

• Contribute to industry thought leadership via white papers, conference presentations, and customer advisory engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Chief Architect roles within enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, telecommunications, or industrial sectors.

• Proven success in engaging at the C-level, particularly within CTO organizations.

• Demonstrated experience in leading technical strategy for large, complex, multi-year technology programs.

• Strong background in managing the technical components of high-value RFPs that involve multiple vendors and complex solution ecosystems.

• Experience in developing architecture across hybrid cloud, private cloud, and edge environments.

• Solid commercial awareness with the capability to align customer business results with technical excellence.

• Experience collaborating with international organizations and supporting strategic customers across EMEA.

• Background in Communications Service Providers (CSP), Enterprise IT, or Industrial sectors.

• Expertise in Kubernetes, OpenStack, Enterprise Linux, cloud-native platforms, virtualization technologies, and AI-enabled infrastructure.

• Experience working with major systems integrators, cloud providers, and strategic technology partners.

• Proven ability to establish and maintain senior technical relationships within complex partner ecosystems.

• Knowledge of software lifecycle management, DevSecOps, automation, and cloud operations.

• Strategic mindset with the ability to link business objectives to technological outcomes.
