Senior Federal Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement FASAB accounting standards along with federal financial management requirements to tackle complex accounting and financial reporting challenges.

• Assist in federal budgetary accounting tasks, which include SBR reporting, GTAS submissions, and understanding budgetary/proprietary account relationships.

• Examine accounting and financial data, general and subsidiary ledgers, as well as Treasury data to pinpoint discrepancies, abnormal balances, and reporting concerns.

• Investigate and resolve accounting problems through root-cause analysis, reconciliations, and remediation strategies.

• Create, document, and suggest adjusting journal entries and other accounting corrections.

• Aid in the preparation of financial statements, ensure audit readiness, and address findings from audits and internal controls.

• Assess financial and operational processes and recommend enhancements.

• Produce analyses, financial models, workpapers, memoranda, presentations, and various client deliverables.

• Independently oversee assigned workstreams while collaborating with clients, project leaders, auditors, and functional teams.

• Offer technical guidance and quality control to junior and mid-level staff.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in federal accounting or financial management, encompassing FASAB and budgetary accounting.

• At least 3 years of experience with SBR, GTAS, general ledger analysis, reconciliations, and the remediation of accounting issues.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in analyzing financial data, developing or recommending adjusting journal entries, and providing substantiated accounting recommendations.

• Must currently possess authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• Capability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
