This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the global events strategy for Blackboard, managing the calendar, prioritization framework, budget, and comprehensive execution.
• Convert go-to-market (GTM) priorities into event programs that drive new logo acquisition, customer retention, adoption, and expansion.
• Develop and sustain an events taxonomy and prioritization model based on pipeline potential, audience alignment, competitive landscape, and historical performance.
• Oversee event spending, forecasting, ROI assessment, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and coordination with agency or contract staff.
• Monitor cost-per-opportunity and cost-per-customer-engagement metrics, reporting budget variances to the VP of GTM Marketing.
• Manage venue and vendor selection, registration systems, booth and experience design, staffing, shipping, on-site coordination, and post-event reviews.
• Develop scalable execution playbooks applicable across various event types and regions.
• Supervise local and contract staff as necessary.
• Create pre-event outreach, registration initiatives, engagement programming during events, and follow-up sequences after events.
• Collaborate with Revenue Marketing on demand generation, account targeting, and pipeline development.
• Partner with Customer Marketing on nurturing tracks that enhance adoption, retention, and cross-sell opportunities.
• Ensure event communications align with GTM positioning and messaging approved by Product Marketing Management (PMM).
• Establish operational relationships with Sales, Customer Success Managers (CSMs), Sales Enablement, and Solution Engineering teams.
• Develop event-specific enablement materials, target account lists, talking points, competitive insights, and meeting scheduling frameworks.
• Set objectives for pipeline, meetings, customer engagements, and new contacts for each event.
• Maintain an events performance dashboard integrated with Salesforce and HubSpot where applicable.
• Conduct post-event debriefings and present performance and ROI analysis to marketing leadership.
• Coordinate with Marketing Operations on attribution, lead routing, and data collection.
• 8–10 years of experience in event marketing.
• Proven history of managing global events programs that deliver measurable pipeline impact.
• Experience in organizing and overseeing events that generate new logo pipeline, preferably in the Higher Education and/or Business & Government sectors.
• Familiarity with the Higher Ed market calendar, including major events such as EDUCAUSE, regional consortia, government technology conferences, and sector-specific gatherings.
• Experience in building structured working relationships with Sales, CSM, Sales Enablement, and Solution Engineering teams.
• Proven ability to manage six- or seven-figure event budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and report ROI to senior leadership.
• Strong project management capabilities and the ability to handle multiple concurrent events across different locations.
• Experience in data-driven event measurement, including CRM pipeline tracking and structured post-event evaluations.
• Experience in directing both contract and local event staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in marketing to Higher Education and Business & Government audiences is preferred.
• Familiarity with competitive event landscapes in EdTech or SaaS is preferred.
• Background in centralized marketing following distributed or regional field marketing is preferred.
• Experience integrating events into Account-Based Marketing (ABM) programs is preferred.
• Exposure to AI-assisted event tools is preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the role is based.
