Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide expert guidance and knowledge on intricate water and wastewater projects.

• Supervise the management and effective use of the estimating database.

• Evaluate contingency factors to create precise and dependable estimates.

• Lead key estimating projects to ensure they are completed successfully.

• Assist in the development and structuring of estimate planning and processes.

• Review solicitation documents, including specifications and drawings, to pinpoint risks.

• Offer technical support and advice in preparing estimates of all levels.

• Manage and maintain the estimating database, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of the data.

• Collaborate with other departments to gauge understanding of water and wastewater design and construction.

• Stay updated on the latest estimating best practices and integrate them into the company's processes as necessary.

• Provide constructability reviews and guidance to the operations team to ensure that preliminary project costs are both accurate and thorough.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field; or a combination of experience, skills, and training equivalent.

• PE License is preferred.

• Over 10 years of relevant estimating experience, ideally in water/wastewater and heavy civil projects.

• Proficient in conceptual and detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, change order estimates, bid evaluations, constructability reviews, and cost estimating software.

• Skilled in estimating software applications and databases.

• Strong abilities in estimate planning and process development.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective engagement with both internal and external clients.

• Proficient in the MS Office Suite.

• Familiarity with MS Project.

• Capable of multitasking and working independently in a dynamic environment.

• Outstanding organizational, management, and prioritization skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to sit for a minimum of 4 hours at a time while performing desk work.

• Capable of performing repetitive hand motion tasks due to typing.
