This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• Prepare and finalize bid/submittal documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects.
• Act as the Lead Estimator for designated projects.
• Generate estimates through quantity take-offs and produce complete estimates for computer printouts.
• Identify project components that are essential for creating a competitive estimate.
• Review proposal specifications and drawings, and participate in pre-bid meetings to ascertain scope and estimate requirements.
• Assess potential cost savings through value engineering.
• Supervise personnel in preparing discipline sub-estimates for assigned bids.
• Maintain documentation and data that support estimate figures.
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on anticipated site conditions and historical data.
• Compile detailed lists of materials and equipment, and secure quotes.
• Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and request quotes.
• Review quotes for completeness and alignment with plans and specifications.
• Timely completion of client-required documents.
• Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects.
• Provide the Chief Estimator with a thorough review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing before issuing formal bid packages.
• Meet with Project Management following successful bids to discuss job scope, areas of focus, and transition requirements.
• Maintain backup files for estimates and update the Rosendin-approved estimating program.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of estimating or relevant experience in closing construction estimates.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and/or engineering design drawings.
• Capable of performing arithmetic calculations necessary for estimating.
• Skilled in estimating various types of projects and coordinating group work efforts.
• Ability to mentor and aid in the development of Estimators.
• Competent in identifying and fulfilling customer needs, expectations, and requirements.
• Proficient in computer applications and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while adapting to changing priorities as needed.
• Capable of working under pressure and adjusting to changing requirements with a positive demeanor.
• Strong oral and written communication skills as required for the role.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective collaborator.
• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees, management, vendors, clients, and others.
• Preferred experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software.
• Preferred experience with CAD or 3D software.
• Education, training, and relevant experience may be combined.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to perform tasks involving extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs.
