Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Collect essential information and requirements, prioritize tasks, and prepare work for estimation purposes.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to create precise production estimates.

• Examine construction drawings and interpret specifications to generate accurate cost projections for each elevation.

• Develop detailed construction budgets by reviewing plans, updating specifications, and identifying costs specific to each phase.

• Assess purchase offers, cost alterations, additions, and site requirements in relation to budget limits.

• Acquire bids from vendors and subcontractors, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing.

• Maintain cost keys and price masters; address cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis.

• Compile reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing cost data and project trends.

• Follow organizational standards and procedures to ensure high-quality service delivery.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across corporate, division, and local teams.

• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and standards through workshops, publications, and professional organizations.

• Collaborate with Project Management on proposals and with Construction Management regarding production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequencing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years is preferred.

• Strong focus on quality.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Strong budget management and documentation skills.

• Experience in vendor relationship management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe.

• Familiarity with Construction Scheduling.

• Capability to develop and manage teams.

• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

• Strong decision-making abilities.
