Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collect essential information and requirements, establish priorities, and prepare tasks for estimation.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to create production estimates.

• Evaluate construction drawings and interpret specifications accurately.

• Develop comprehensive construction budgets and determine costs for each phase of the project.

• Assess purchase offers, cost adjustments, additions, and site requirements in relation to budget limitations.

• Solicit bids from vendors and subcontractors, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing effectively.

• Maintain cost keys and pricing masters; address cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis.

• Generate reports that summarize cost data and project trends.

• Comply with organizational standards and procedures to ensure high-quality service delivery.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing requirements across corporate, divisional, and local teams.

• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and standards through workshops, publications, and professional organizations.

• Collaborate with Project Management on proposals.

• Coordinate with Construction Management on production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequencing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required; 8+ years is preferred.

• Experience in construction estimating, specifically with concrete, tilt-up, and commercial flatwork.

• Familiarity with the data center sector.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Proficient in budget management and documentation.

• Experience in vendor relationship management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.

• Knowledge of construction scheduling.

• Ability to develop and lead teams effectively.

• Capable of identifying and resolving complex issues.
