Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collect essential information and requirements, establish priorities, and prepare work for cost estimation.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to create precise production estimates.

• Analyze construction blueprints and interpret specifications accurately.

• Develop comprehensive construction budgets by reviewing plans, updating specifications, and identifying phase costs.

• Assess purchase offers, cost fluctuations, additions, and site requirements against budget limitations.

• Solicit bids from vendors and subcontractors, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing effectively.

• Maintain cost keys and price masters; address cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis.

• Prepare reports that summarize cost data and project trends.

• Uphold service quality by adhering to organizational standards and procedures.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing requirements across corporate, divisional, and local teams.

• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and standards through workshops, publications, and professional associations.

• Collaborate with Project Management on proposals.

• Coordinate with Construction Management on production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequencing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years is preferred.

• Strong foundation in construction estimating.

• Expertise in concrete, tilt-up, and commercial flatwork.

• Experience in the data center industry.

• Quality-focused mindset.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Proficient in budgeting and documentation.

• Experience in vendor relationship management.

• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.

• Familiarity with construction scheduling.

• Ability to develop and manage teams effectively.

• Capability to identify and resolve complex issues.

• Strong decision-making skills.
