Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collect essential information and requirements, prioritize tasks, and prepare work for estimation.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to create precise production estimates.

• Review construction drawings and interpret specifications to ensure accurate cost predictions for each elevation.

• Develop comprehensive construction budgets by examining plans, updating specifications, and identifying phase-related costs.

• Assess purchase offers, cost variations, additions, and site requirements against budget limits.

• Solicit bids from vendors and subcontractors, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing.

• Maintain cost keys and price masters; resolve cost discrepancies through data gathering and analysis.

• Generate reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing cost data and project trends.

• Ensure service quality by adhering to organizational standards and procedures.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing requirements across corporate, division, and local teams.

• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and standards through workshops, publications, and professional organizations.

• Collaborate with Project Management on proposals and with Construction Management on production rates, milestones, and job sequencing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years is preferred.

• Strong focus on quality.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Robust budget management and documentation skills.

• Experience in vendor relationship management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe.

• Familiarity with construction scheduling.

• Ability to develop and lead teams effectively.

• Capability to identify and resolve complex issues.

• Strong decision-making abilities.
