Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collect essential information and requirements, establish priorities, and prepare work for estimation.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to create precise production estimates.

• Examine construction drawings and interpret specifications for accurate cost forecasting.

• Develop detailed construction budgets by reviewing plans, updating specifications, and identifying phase expenses.

• Assess purchase offers, cost modifications, additions, and site needs against budget limitations.

• Acquire bids from vendors and subcontractors, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing.

• Maintain cost keys and price masters; address cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis.

• Create special reports that summarize cost data and project trends.

• Follow organizational standards and procedures.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across corporate, division, and local teams.

• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and standards through workshops, publications, and professional organizations.

• Collaborate with Project Management on proposals and work with Construction Management on production rates, milestones, and job sequencing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years is preferred.

• Focused on quality.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Proficient in budget management and documentation.

• Experience in vendor relationship management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe.

• Familiarity with construction scheduling.

• Capable of developing and managing teams.

• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

• Strong decision-making capabilities.
