Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Collect essential information and requirements, prioritize tasks, and prepare work for estimation.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to generate precise production estimates.

• Review construction drawings and interpret specifications accurately.

• Develop comprehensive construction budgets by assessing plans, updating specifications, and pinpointing phase-specific costs.

• Assess purchase offers, cost alterations, additions, and site requirements within budget limitations.

• Acquire vendor and subcontractor bids, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing effectively.

• Maintain cost keys and price masters, resolving cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis.

• Create reports summarizing cost data and project trends.

• Follow organizational standards and procedures diligently.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across corporate, division, and local teams.

• Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and standards.

• Partner with Project Management on proposals.

• Collaborate with Construction Management on production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequencing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience; 8+ years is preferred.

• Background in construction estimating, concrete, tilt-up, commercial flatwork, and the data center sector.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Strong skills in budgeting and documentation.

• Experience in managing vendor relationships.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe.

• Familiarity with construction scheduling.

• Capability to develop and manage teams effectively.

• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

• Strong decision-making abilities.
