Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Collect essential information and requirements, prioritize tasks, and prepare work for estimation.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs for materials and labor to create precise production estimates.

• Review construction drawings and interpret specifications to guarantee accurate cost forecasts for each elevation.

• Develop comprehensive construction budgets by analyzing plans, updating specifications, and identifying costs specific to each phase.

• Assess purchase offers, cost modifications, additions, and site requirements in relation to budget limitations.

• Secure bids from vendors and subcontractors, specify materials, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate prices.

• Manage cost keys and price masters; address cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis.

• Generate special reports summarizing cost data and project trends.

• Ensure service quality by adhering to organizational standards and procedures.

• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs across corporate, divisional, and local teams.

• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and standards through workshops, publications, and professional organizations.

• Collaborate with Project Management on proposals.

• Work alongside Construction Management on production rates, schedule milestones, and job sequencing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required; 8+ years is preferred.

• A strong focus on quality.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficient in budgeting and documentation.

• Experience in vendor relationship management.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe.

• Knowledge of Construction Scheduling.

• Ability to develop and lead teams.

• Capability to identify and resolve complex issues.

• Strong decision-making abilities.
