Senior Engineering Manager – Tenant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the Honeycomb Private Cloud infrastructure, tooling, and operational workflows.

• Enhance the product, assist in achieving sales objectives, and cultivate customer relationships.

• Collaborate with Field Engineering, Support, and Sales on proofs of concept, security assessments, access negotiations, and contract requests.

• Facilitate collaboration across engineering teams while ensuring close alignment between SaaS and Private Cloud.

• Incorporate tooling inspired by Private Cloud back into the SaaS infrastructure.

• Expand and nurture a senior engineering team.

• Eliminate single points of failure and recruit and onboard engineers as the product scales.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as an Engineering Manager for a highly technical, senior team.

• Proven history as an engineer, capable of influencing without direct authority, and improving systems.

• Experience leading or managing a team with real production on-call responsibilities.

• Background in shipping and operating software in on-premises, private cloud, BYOC, or managed single-tenant environments.

• Proficient in Kubernetes and AWS, with the ability to review designs and participate in incident evaluations.

• Experience interacting with enterprise customers, including handling security questionnaires, access models, procurement, and escalations.

• Ability to prioritize effectively on a small team with a broad scope of responsibilities.

• Experience in hiring and onboarding engineers in a steep-ramp environment.

• Familiarity with AI tools and a perspective on their appropriate application.

• Must confirm identity and eligibility to work in the United States; Honeycomb is currently unable to sponsor or support visa transfers.
