Manager, Software Engineering – App Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and steer the vision and roadmap for Mobile App Infrastructure Engineering at Affirm.

• Concentrate on app architecture, developer efficiency, application reliability, performance, and adherence to industry best practices.

• Lead and develop a team of senior engineers dedicated to constructing a mobile app platform and tooling.

• Enable Affirm engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance, user-centric mobile features at a rapid pace.

• Foster trust and ensure alignment across engineering, product, design, and leadership in cross-team initiatives.

• Regularly engage in hands-on technical contributions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in mobile app and web engineering.

• At least 3 years of experience working with React Native.

• Minimum of 3 years in managing and developing engineering teams.

• Proven experience in transforming the development process of mobile or web applications within an organization.

• Experience in building and delivering new consumer-focused mobile applications from inception to completion.

• Demonstrated ability to scale at least one mobile app to over 1 million monthly active users.

• A strong history of fostering alignment and driving results across teams in complex settings without direct authority.

• Technical acumen to influence architectural, quality, and reliability decisions.

• Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and organizational influence skills.

• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
