Senior Engineering Manager – iOS Video Applications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of senior iOS engineers.

• Design and implement innovative, user-centric features from initial product and interaction design through to execution and production quality.

• Establish technical and quality benchmarks for the iOS division.

• Ensure architectural consistency, maintainability, and performance throughout the codebase.

• Mentor engineers on the effective use of AI-assisted development tools and autonomous workflows.

• Define expectations, workflows, and guidelines for AI-generated outputs.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to define product strategy.

• Direct scope and priority decisions while balancing user impact, speed, and long-term technical sustainability.

• Foster a culture of experimentation through early validation and genuine user feedback.

• Cultivate talent through consistent feedback, mentorship, and discussions about career advancement.

• Represent the iOS team in organization-wide planning and advocate for investment, technical excellence, and a user-focused approach.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience delivering Apple applications, with substantial experience in launching complex, production-scale iOS products.

• Proven experience in managing and expanding teams of senior engineers, including recruitment, performance evaluation, coaching, and career development.

• Strong technical proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and the iOS SDK.

• Knowledge of Apple Human Interface Guidelines.

• Experience navigating ambiguous problem domains and converting unclear problem definitions into precise execution plans.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools at a team level, including setting expectations, workflows, and guidelines for AI-generated content.

• Excellent and persuasive communication skills across technical, product, and design domains.

• Understanding of mobile video editing processes or a strong desire to rapidly gain that understanding.

• Proven ability to influence product direction, technical strategy, or design outcomes beyond the immediate team.

• Experience refining engineering processes in expanding teams, including quality, reliability, and release management.

• Background in developing creative tools, video production software, or editing workflows.

• Practical experience using video editing applications.

• Familiarity with contemporary AI-enabled developer tools and practices.
