Senior Engineering Manager – Developer Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the DevTools engineering team that supports PingOne Multi-Tenant SaaS.

• Promote the use of AI-enhanced features within developer tools and pipelines.

• Establish technical direction and take ownership of the continuous delivery model, application CI/CD pipelines, and build systems.

• Deliver architectural guidance, lead design evaluations, and assist in hands-on technical troubleshooting.

• Create paved roads, self-service developer tools, and automated workflows.

• Implement proactive alerting, system observability, swift incident resolution, and thorough internal root cause analyses.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a globally distributed team across North America and Bangalore.

• Enhance operational rigor, efficiency, and platform modernization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of engineering management experience leading platform, CI/CD, DevTools, or infrastructure engineering teams.

• More than 8 years of hands-on software development experience with Java (Spring Boot), Groovy pipeline-as-code, Python, or shell scripting in enterprise cloud settings.

• Demonstrated history of implementing AI-assisted engineering workflows or automation to enhance platform reliability, failure diagnosis, or pipeline self-healing capabilities.

• Extensive technical knowledge of modern CI/CD architectures and toolchains: Jenkins (pipeline-as-code), GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes/Helm, and AWS.

• Proven success in operating developer platforms as a product that supports over 100 engineers, defining clear SLAs/SLOs, and encouraging the adoption of paved-road tooling.

• Strong history of performing at a Principal-level technical standard, conducting thorough architecture reviews, and effectively collaborating with Staff/Principal engineers and senior leadership.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
