Part Time Software Platform Engineer Co-Op

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Engage in monthly seminars focused on professional development.

• Complete mandatory training as required by Raytheon.

• Participate in activities related to security clearance.

• Meet regularly with a designated mentor.

• Dedicate 2–4 hours each month to assist with co-op initiatives.

• Transition to a full-time onsite role in Richardson, Texas, upon graduation and clearance approval.

• After conversion, contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of systems that support customer missions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be Senior or Post-Graduate students graduating or completing studies in December 2027.

• A major in Computer Science or a related STEM field is required.

• A minimum of 90 credit hours must be completed by the start of the co-op session.

• Prior experience in software development utilizing scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash, or Shell is necessary.

• Ability to obtain and retain a U.S. government-issued TS/SCI / CI Poly security clearance is essential.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• An active and existing security clearance must be in place from day one.

• Preferred qualifications include knowledge of basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts.

• Preferred: Experience in providing solutions to routine technical challenges.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Linux, Windows, or related operating systems at the command line level.

• Preferred: Proficiency in tools such as Ansible, Chef, Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, or similar.

• Preferred: Understanding of network design and architecture.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or government cloud technologies.

• Preferred: Familiarity with DevSecOps toolsets.

• Preferred: Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies.

• Understanding of cybersecurity concepts is a plus.
