Part Time Software Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Engage in Raytheon’s Cooperative Education Program as a Software Platform Engineer Co-Op.

• Attend monthly engagement seminars.

• Complete the necessary training provided by Raytheon.

• Participate in activities related to security clearance.

• Meet with a designated mentor.

• Dedicate 2–4 hours each month to support co-op activities.

• Note that this part-time co-op does not involve internship or direct program/project work.

• Upon graduation and with clearance approval, move into a full-time onsite role in Aurora, Colorado.

• After the transition, contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of systems that support customer missions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a Senior or Post-Graduate student graduating or completing studies in December 2027 in Computer Science or a related STEM field.

• A minimum of 90 credit hours must be completed by the beginning of the internship/co-op session.

• Experience in software development utilizing scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash, or Shell is required.

• Candidates must be U.S. citizens.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued TS/SCI / CI Poly security clearance is essential.

• An active and existing security clearance is required from day one.

• Must be able to work from one of the 50 U.S. states, excluding U.S. territories.

• Remote co-op participation necessitates 2–4 hours per month for engagement seminars, required training, security clearance activities, and mentor meetings.

• Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Linux, Windows, or related operating systems at the command line.

• Preferred: Experience with Ansible, Chef, Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.

• Preferred: Knowledge in network design and architecture.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Gov cloud technologies.

• Preferred: Understanding of DevSecOps toolsets.

• Preferred: Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodology.

• Cybersecurity knowledge is a plus.
